10 Things You Might Not Have Known About Diggerland

Diggerland is hands-down the most unique theme park I have ever experienced–and there is SO MUCH MORE available there than people expect! I’ve compiled a list below of a few things you might not know about this family friendly destination for construction fun!
They do Birthday Parties. Life is busy. I’m all about unique birthday ideas that don’t wreck my house or require hours of pinterest projects. Let Diggerland provide you with a memorable party experience that is hassle free and hard core fun. If your little one has a birthday March thru May, you just found yourself an exciting new option for your celebration.
You can CAMP there. So this is seriously SO COOL. Diggerland offers several special Family Camp Out dates where you can load-up the fam and your tent and have probably the coolest sleepover in the world. Fall Camp Outs happen October 3-4 and October 17-18 and include park admission, dinner, s’mores, ziplines and a whole lot of fun!
It is actually REAL equipment that has been safely adjusted for park usage. This is what the whole park is built on— sit in actual real machinery and get a feel for the jobs they do! Honestly, I felt like this was really fun as an adult too!
Parking Is FREE! We’ve all been there. You bought a whole car load of tickets and loaded up the entire family just to be surprised with a parking fee. Not at Diggerland! Parking is free at the park– and nowadays– that is a treat!
They offer Season Passes. Diggerland actually offers a lot of fun events throughout the year. For Summer you have The Water Main for waterpark fun that will cool you down. In the fall you have Diggerfest and a HUGE amount of activities that come with that (see the next point below). You’ve also got the Holiday Light-Show Drive Thru, Easter Egg hunts, mermaids and circus visits—- you will actually WANT to come back! Season Passes for 2027 will be out soon and we’ll be sure to announce them on our page so you don’t forget.
They go ALL OUT for Fall. There’s so much to do at Diggerfest in the fall! Starting September 26th, you’ll be seeing lots of extra fall fun at the parks. Petting Zoos, Hay rides, Pumpkin Decorating, s’mores, carnival games, Fire truck rides and more! I think Fall is one of the most perfect times to visit this park! Lots of great Fall perks will be included in your admission ticket. Check the Diggerland website for the full schedule.
They have a drive-thru Holiday Light Show and Santa Visits the Park! I love a good holiday outing and their drive-thru Holiday Light Show is a great way to feel festive without being out in the cold! Also, if your little one wants to tell Santa which trucks they want for Christmas, where better than to tell him than at Diggerland!?
FREE Touch-A-Truck Event. Yes you read it right– it is FREE! Diggerland hosts a totally free event and it’s coming up soon– September 19th 2026, 9a-12p. Head over to the Diggerland parking lot to see fire trucks, ems vehicles, heavy machines and some pretty big awesome trucks! (Please note, this free event doesn’t also include admission to the ride park.). The only Touch-A-Truck event where afterwards you can head into the park to actually ride some!
Kids Under 36” are free. It’s important to note that 36” is the minimum height for a lot of Diggerland attractions, so kids under that height won’t have as much to do. That being said, if you do have a little sibling in tow, they are welcome and free of charge!
You can Trick or Treat at Diggerland–It’s called DIG or TREAT and that is just a plain ole blast! Running September 26th to November 1st, kids are welcome to wear their costume to the park and trick or treat there from open until 12:30pm.
Diggerland is always growing to bring creative offerings to families who want a memorable day out with their kiddos. I can’t recommend it enough– and no matter where you are in NJ, I feel it is worth the drive! For more information and tickets, you can visit: diggerlandusa.com/
