Tucked away in a quiet part of NJ (yes, NJ has quiet parts too!) is one of the most unique experiences you can ever bring your family to— Cowtown Rodeo.  Yes folks– this is a REAL RODEO!   I’m talking bucking broncos, bulls, steers, rodeo clowns– the works!

I’m a born and raised Jersey shore girl so naturally, I don’t know anything about rodeos and horses that the TV series Yellowstone didn’t teach me.  Looking for a new family friendly experience put this event on the map for me and honestly– I can’t wait to go back.

From May to September, Cowtown Rodeo packs a stadium full of ALL AGES for a classic small rodeo experience that will make you feel more American than the 4th of July fireworks.  The announcer and rodeo DJ keeps the show moving at a brisk pace and adds in some fun for the crowd that reminded me of how the Blue Claws also engage their fans.

There’s just one month left of the rodeo, and I suggest you get tickets in advance from Cowtown Rodeo’s site directly (Do NOT purchase from any third parties– there have been issues with scams).  Arrive early to pick a great seat (I think it’s best to be higher, but really you can enjoy the event from any spot) and note that on-site food vendors are cash only.  Bathrooms are port-a-potties so not super luxurious but I found them to be well-maintained which was a good.

These events DO sell out so I suggest booking early (after a quick glimpse at the weather report of course).  If you don’t want to do a late drive home, The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Carneys Point is just a short drive away and has free breakfast and reasonable rates for a Saturday night.

So round up some cowboy boots, and head on over!  For more info visit CowtownRodeo.com.
