As a Jersey shore girl…everything I know about cowboys I learned from Yellowstone. Ok– so that’s not a toddler friendly show…. But for decades little kids have been interested in cowboys. Aside from visiting farms and waving at the horses, what can we do to bring our families a touch of the west? Here’s two things on OUR list!
WILD WEST CITY

This western town theme park in NJ is on the MUST-DO list for us. We’re going to stroll into a fake little town, visit the candy shoppe, watch a shoot-out, maybe meet the sheriff and go for a train ride AND a stage coach ride (this is extra $– but how cool!). They have shows that happen during the day and you’ll see some classic good guy/bad guy action that the kiddos just love.  Maybe I’ll use this as an excuse to buy us all some cowboy boots–how fun! Buy your tickets online to save– and note that they do offer discounts for military, teachers and first responders. There is a current online promotion (as of this posting) for $37 adult tickets and $32 for kids/seniors. For more info: https://wildwestcity.com
COWTOWN RODEO

This exists in NJ?! Well how about that! I have literally never seen a real rodeo so this is as much for me as it is for my little one! Their website tells me they are the longest running professional weekly rodeo in the USA– how awesome! They’ve been at it since 1929 and I think that is amazing! It is suggested that you buy tickets in advance as some dates sell out. It is also suggested that you bring cash for all food vendors on site. Prices here are very affordable! Recently their website stated 2 and under go free, 3-12 are $12 and 13+ use adult tickets for $28 a pop. Cowtown is a bit of a drive for me so I’ll be writing a follow-up blog when we go to share if we make any other stops on our trip. For more info: https://cowtownrodeo.com Yeehaw!
